Kaga Yubinuki is a traditional handmade silk thimble of Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan. In olden times, seamstresses made their own thimbles using leftover materials such as kimono fabric and silk threads.
Eventually the handmade thimbles became obsolete as leather and metal thimbles grew popular. Nowadays many people in Japan enjoy making them for collections, necklace pendants, rings and as decoration for the sash clip of kimono.
This class will make a design named Yatarajima "Irregular Stripes" with colors of your choosing.
Class fee: $50.00 (Material fee is included)
Enrollment: 6 seats
